Documentation
Everything from download to your first payout. Most stores are live in under an hour.
1 · Install the plugin
- Download the plugin zip — from your account page or the link on your order confirmation.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
- Choose the zip, click Install Now, then Activate.
Requirements: WordPress 6.4+, PHP 8.0+. WooCommerce is needed for order-based commissions; tracking and affiliate applications work without it.
2 · Activate your license
- Open Affiliates → License in your WordPress admin.
- Paste your key (it looks like
AFWP-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX). - Click Activate license.
The screen shows your plan, expiry date, and how many site slots you’re using. Activation unlocks one-click updates and support. Each plan activates on a set number of sites — Personal 1, Professional 5, Agency unlimited.
3 · Automatic updates
With an active license, updates appear in Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins screen like any other plugin — one click installs them. The plugin checks for new versions twice a day.
If your license is expired or missing, WordPress still shows that an update exists, but the update explains what to fix instead of installing. Your site keeps running either way.
4 · Move a license to another site
- On the old site: Affiliates → License → Deactivate. (Site dead? Use the account page to deactivate it remotely.)
- On the new site: install the plugin and activate the same key.
5 · Set up your program
After activation, the Affiliates → Dashboard screen shows a setup checklist that walks you through everything:
- Create your pages — one click creates the application page and the affiliate dashboard page.
- Set your commission rate — percentage or flat, with a refund-safe maturity window.
- Connect payouts — your own PayPal or Stripe credentials, or record manual payouts.
- Get your first affiliate — share the application page, or add a partner manually.
Troubleshooting
“This license is already active on the maximum number of sites”
Deactivate a site you no longer use — from that site’s License screen, or remotely from the account page — then activate again. Or upgrade to a bigger plan.
“Could not reach the license server”
Your host may block outgoing HTTP requests. Ask them to allow connections to affiliatefactorywp.com, then click Re-check on the License screen.
Update shows but won’t install
The update row explains why — usually an expired license. Renew, click Re-check on the License screen, and the update installs normally.
